The nefarious Sparrow Academy has supplanted the Umbrella Academy in this alternate universe due to the time travel antics of the Hargreeves. It's up to them to once more save the planet since they've set off a series of events that might bring about the end of the world.

The "we only have x amount of time to halt the apocalypse" trope may feel a touch overused as this is The Umbrella Academy's third episode. Large swaths of the internet were down due to a Cloudflare outage.

According to Cloudflare's status page, the company had an outage on Tuesday morning. According to Downdetector, Cloudflare's technology is used by a slew of other websites and services, and the outage appeared to affect a variety of them, including Discord, Shopify, Grindr, Fitbit, and Peleton. At roughly 2:30 a.m. ET, reports of problems began to emerge. At 4:06 a.m. ET, Cloudflare reported that the problem had been addressed.

Users of Cloudflare's own DNS lookup service were particularly affected. Using Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 DNS service caused some Verge employees to be unable to access any websites at all during the outage. Thankfully, the solution is straightforward: simply change your DNS settings. I discovered that reverting to my ISP's default DNS settings addressed the problem.

Cloudflare announced on Tuesday that it has repaired a "widespread" outage that had hit a number of sites earlier in the day, including FTX, Discord, Omegle, DoorDash, Crunchyroll, NordVPN, and Feedly. Users began experiencing difficulty accessing famous sites such as Zerodha, Medium.com, news portal Register, Groww, Buffer, iSpirt, Upstox, and Social Blade about an hour after the internet infrastructure business rectified the issue.

“Stock splits are usually a sign of optimism,” said Mark Lehmann, chief executive officer of JMP Group, in the Bloomberg report. “Very few companies split their stock in anticipation of things going poorly. It’s an example of what’s reflected in the entire market.”

In reality, stock splits have no effect on the share’s value, but traders were excited to see them become a bit of a regular occurrence among some of the business world’s biggest names, the report said.
