Roe vs Wade : To restore abortion rights, we must "fight to November."
In response to the Supreme Court's Dobbs ruling overturning Roe v. Wade, Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) stated on MSNBC's "Andrea Mitchell Reports" on Friday that voters must "fight till November" in order to support Democrats who would enact a national statute allowing access to abortion.
They do not want to return to the 1850s, which is precisely what this judgement accomplishes, despite what Justice Alito believes.
She said, "The filibuster, which I oppose, should be eliminated. There is a 60-vote requirement. There are Republican senators that openly advocate for introducing legislation that would outlaw abortion. To me, the solution is clear-cut. Nov. has arrived. It's the voting booth. It is exactly that. This is a step too far, according to the nation's women and the men who support them. This is true of moderate Republicans as well as Independents and Democrats. It's enough already. The claim that the word "abortion" never appeared in the Constitution cannot be used to abolish a privilege that has existed for 50 years. The Constitution doesn't mention women by name. The Constitution doesn't mention her.
The Constitution doesn't include the air force. We are actually being moved backward by them. The best course of action, in my opinion, is to battle until November and support candidates who will protect a woman's right to believe that she can make her own decisions with the help of her doctor and her family. Ted Cruz making such judgments is not what they want.
