After literally years of anticipation, The Umbrella Academy season 3 has finally come!

The third season of the show opens off just where we left off, with the Sparrows and Umbrellas engaged in combat. The Hargreeves learn that their familiar world has undergone a significant transformation after preventing the end of the world for the second time.

In particular, Reginald Hargreeves adopted a whole separate batch of super-powered children born on October 1, 1989, ergo the Sparrows, because he was so disappointed by the Hargreeves when he ran into them in the past.

Review of "The Umbrella Academy": In a delightful, though cliched, Season 3 battle, the Hargreeves siblings go up against the Sparrow Academy.

The superpowered Hargreeves brothers and their enormous father issues are back thanks to the return of The Umbrella Academy. Season 2 may have concluded with our heroes stopping the end of the world and going back in time, but that purported success had terrible repercussions. The nefarious Sparrow Academy has supplanted the Umbrella Academy in this alternate universe due to the time travel antics of the Hargreeves. It's up to them to once more save the planet since they've set off a series of events that might bring about the end of the world.

The "we only have x amount of time to halt the apocalypse" trope may feel a touch overused as this is The Umbrella Academy's third episode. Fortunately for us, Season 3 mostly avoids those pitfalls, keeping the Hargreeves' travels feeling fresh with potent new character developments and an enjoyable cast of antagonists to battle.

Who is The Umbrella Academy? The Sparrow Academy, a brand-new group of glitzy, superhero Hargreeves brothers, have arrived in town for the third season of the Netflix series.

Our beloved original Hargreeves siblings had been replaced by a whole new group of youngsters in the new timeline, all of whom had been adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves exactly as they had been, according to the shocking conclusion at the end of Umbrella Academy season 2.

But as we quickly learn at the beginning of season 3, the Sparrows are deadlier than the Umbrella siblings ever were, they take their superhero position very seriously, and they are much, much better prepared and extremely adept in combat as a result of their rigorous training regimens.
